Tips For Measuring and Standard Size Charts

MEASURING YOUR BODY
If you took your body measurements and wanted to use those measurements to determine what size and/or length to order from adintennis.com,
here are the instructions:

Use a dependable measuring tape. Please do not use a metal measuring tape meant for home projects or a cloth measuring tape that might have stretched out over time.
Measuring your Bust:
Place the tape measure around the fullest or widest part of your chest.

Measuring your Waist:
While standing straight, wrap the tape measure around where you wear your skirt or pants.
For some women it’s their natural waistline, others it’s somewhere above or below.

Measuring your Hips:
Stand with your feet together, wrap the tape measure around the fullest or widest part of your hips.

Measuring Your Body For the Length of a Top or Dress:
From the middle of your shoulder, down the front of your body to where You want the hem to end.
It's important not to look down to look at the measurement. That would alter the measurement. Tip: Look in a mirror!

Measuring Your Body For the Length of a Skirt:
From the top of where You want to wear your waistband to where You want the hem to end, at the side seam.
It's important not to look down to look at the measurement. That would alter the measurement. Tip: Look in a mirror!

MEASURE A GARMENT
Sometime we have a skirt or top we already own and love the way it fits.
If you wanted to use those garment measurements to determine what size and/or length to order from adintennis.com here are some instructions:

Measuring the Bust of a Top or Dress
Lay the top on a hard flat surface like a table smoothing out the wrinkles (as best as you can) and measure from underarm to underarm.
Double this for the bust measurement (Example 22" = 44" bust)

Measuring the Hem Opening or Sweep Circumference
Lay the top (or dress) down on a flat surface, smoothing it down as best as you can
Measure the hem opening. If the opening is curved, please follow the curve when measuring
Double this for the sweep measurement (Example 24" = 48" sweep)

Measure the Length of a Top or Dress
Lay the top (or dress) down on a flat surface, smoothing it down as best as you can.
Measure from the center of the shoulder seam down to the bottom of the hem
Do not double this measurement.
Example 24 inches = 24 inch length

Sleeves? Measure sleeve length from the top of the shoulder to the hem of the sleeve (Example 6” = 6” sleeve)
No Sleeves? Measure armhole opening from shoulder seam to underarm.
Do not double this measurement.
This is the armhole measurement. (Example 10.5” = 10.5”)

Measuring the Waist of a Skirt
Lay the waistband on a table or other hard surface. Smooth out the wrinkles as best as you can and measure the elastic without stretching.
Double this for the elastic measurement (Example 16" = 32" elastic)

Measure the Hem Opening or Sweep Circumference
Lay the skirt down on a flat surface, smoothing it down as best as you can
Measure the hem opening. If the opening is curved, please follow the curve when measuring
Double this for the sweep measurement (Example 25" = 50" sweep)

Measure the Length of a Skirt
Lay the skirt down to measure the length from the top of the waistband to the bottom of the hem, at the side seam
Do not double this measurement.
This is the length measurement (Example 17" = 17" length).

How to Measure to Get the Right Fit.

For best results, take your measurements over your underwear.

Bust
Place the tape measure around the fullest part of your chest.

Waist
While standing straight, wrap the tape measure around where you wear your skirt or pants. For some women it’s their natural waistline, others it’s somewhere below.

Hips
Stand with your feet together, wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your hips.

Inseam
One of the easiest ways to measure your inseam is to measure a pair of pants that you own and like the way they fit. On the inside of one of the legs, measure from where the seams meet the crotch, all the way to the bottom of the leg.
