I Just Wanted a Cute Tennis Skirt That Fit ~ Was that Too Much to Ask?
Apparently so. Prior to creating Ad In Apparel Company and later the website, adintennis.com I was constantly searching for a tennis skirt and/or tennis top that fit me, that didn't cost an arm and a leg and that I actually liked wearing! I am petite in stature but my measurements are anything but petite. And here's another thing, over the years my size has changed. My weight has been up and it's been down and it's been up again but no matter my size, it was still hard to find tennis apparel that filled my wants and needs. Out of frustration I and a neighbor dusted off our sewing machines and got to work making our own designs. It wasn't long before we realized that a lot of other women were as frustrated as we were - Ad In Apparel Company was born.
Back in the late 90's, I would sew tennis skirts, tennis dresses and tops at night after I put my 4 daughters to bed and by day we would sell the dresses out of the back of our minivans at our local neighborhood tennis courts in Atlanta, GA. In 2000, we launched the website—www.adintennis.com. and in 2005 I became the sole owner. It wasn't long before I quickly learned that we needed professional help for all of the sewing. Ad In Apparel Company partnered with a group of very skilled tailors to execute our designs. Proudly, all of adintennis.com's clothing is made in the U.S.A.
I am grateful to be able to combine my love of fashion and fitness, reaching out to active women of all sizes everywhere. In the last 16 years, adintennis.com has provided thousands of women affordable, attractive and comfortable tennis apparel and activewear that fits. We're happy with what we have done so far but we are excited about learning and doing even more in the years to come including designing, working and giving. We are excited about the new designs we are planning now and in the future, we are blessed to be working with each other and our clients and finally, we are hoping that we can Give away as much as possible to charitable organizations that are devoted to those that are hungry.
May we accomplish this and much, much more!
